PLEASE NOTE: Tonya Girard, LMFT is not accepting new clients at this time.
As a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT), I provide a bio-psycho-social-spiritual approach to mental health care. I identify the individual as an inherent part of an impactful, more extensive system.
Trained in Family Systems Theory, I incorporate a person-centered, solution-focused approach, which is concerned with the overall long-term well-being of individuals, couples, and their families across the life cycle.
I believe that a preventative approach to well-being is crucial in today’s changing health care climate. My practice emphasizes the fluid incorporation of an eclectic set of evidence-based techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral methods, Emotion-Focused and Narrative Therapy techniques, psychoeducational resources, Motivational Interviewing (MI), family systems theory, and mindfulness practice, and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT).
Helping my clients find an individualized balance between academic, professional, and personal life is an underlying objective with the service I provide to my clients.
